APPLICABLE TO ALL BOOKINGS

1. MAKING A BOOKING

Once we have received your booking and all appropriate payments (usually the booking deposit), we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by issuing a confirmation invoice. A binding contract between you and us comes into existence when we despatch the booking confirmation.

2. PAYMENT

You will be required to pay a deposit or make full payment for your booking at the time of booking. Where you only pay a deposit you must pay the full balance by the balance due date notified to you.

Any discounts or offers advertised on our website cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts or offers.

3. ACCURACY

We endeavor to ensure that all of the information and prices both on our website and in any advertising material that we issue are accurate; however, occasionally changes and errors occur and we reserve the right to correct prices and other details in such circumstances. You must check the current price and all other details relating to the course or arrangements that you wish to book before your booking is confirmed.

4. INSURANCE

Adequate travel insurance is a condition of your contract. You MUST take out a policy of insurance in order to cover you and your party against the cost of cancellation by you; the cost of assistance (including repatriation) in the event of accident or illness; loss of baggage and money; and other expenses. Failure to disclose relevant information may affect your insurance. If you fail to travel with adequate insurance cover we will not be liable for any losses in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.

5. BEHAVIOUR

Please be aware that the booking conditions of the supplier will normally state that your holiday arrangements can be terminated, with no refund, if the behavior of your party falls below an acceptable standard.

6. ACCOMMODATION

You are responsible for looking after the property in which you will live. In the event of damage being inflicted on the property, then you and the other course or camp participants occupying the property will be required to pay pro rata for the damage sustained. You are responsible to pay for any damaged caused by visitors to your accommodation. You agree to indemnify us for the full amount of any claim (including all legal costs) made against us by the supplier or any third party as a result of your conduct.

7. FORCE MAJEURE

Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions we will not be liable or pay you compensation if our contractual obligations to you are affected by any event which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. These events can include, but are not limited to war, threat of war, civil strife, terrorist activity and its consequences or the threat of such activity, riot, the act of any government or other national or local authority including port or river authorities, industrial dispute, lock closure, natural or nuclear disaster, extreme weather events, fire, chemical or biological disaster and all similar events outside our control or the control of the supplier concerned.

Without limitation to the foregoing, you recognize that weather events and mountain closures (neither of which we can control) will likely impact our ability to deliver courses and camps on the scheduled days. We reserve the right to reschedule courses or camps and/or extend the hours/days on which courses  and camps are delivered to account for weather events and/or mountain closures. We recommend that you factor reasonable flexibility into your flights and other travel arrangements to accommodate your course or camp dates/hours being moved on account of weather events and/or mountain closures. We will be under no obligation to refund any monies paid should you not be able to attend any course days/times which have been rescheduled on account of weather events, mountain closures or other events outside of our control.

8. MINIMUM ABILITY LEVELS

On each course or camp there is a minimum acceptable ski or snowboard ability level. It can sometimes be difficult to judge your level and you may find that your level is below the minimum level for the course you have booked. Usually we are able to cater for this eventuality; however, on some occasions alternative lessons may need to be arranged, these vary in duration and may not be equivalent to the original course booked. Any additional costs incurred for these additional lessons will be payable by you directly to the ski school or provider concerned.

9. CANCELLATION

IF YOU CANCEL YOUR PACKAGE BOOKING

If you decide to cancel your confirmed booking you must notify us in writing. Since we incur costs in cancelling your arrangements, you will have to pay the applicable cancellation charges up to the maximum shown in the table below (the cancellation charge detailed is calculated on the basis of the total cost payable by the person cancelling, excluding insurance premiums and amendment charges which are not refundable in the event of the person to whom they apply cancelling).

Period before departure within which notice of cancellation by you is received and amount of cancellation charge:

  • 60 days or more = Loss of booking fee of deposit

  • 30 days or more = 75% of cost of booking

  • Less than 30 days = 100% of cost of booking

Any bank fees or associated costs in providing cancellation refunds are at the full cost and responsibility of the guest. We strongly advise the purchase of travel insurance to cover the potential loss arising from cancellations. If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges.

Transferring your Booking or Activity: In the event of cancellation you may be able, at our sole discretion, to defer your booking to another season.

10. LIMITATION OF OUR LIABILITY

There are inherent risks associated with the courses operated by Rookie Academy. Rookie Academy COVID-19 Policy

If you’re anything like us, the draw of traveling to far-flung countries for the love of all things skiing becomes an addiction. However, as with any addiction, there comes risk!

In times like these, it’s important to understand the forever-changing landscape of Covid-19. It is therefore the responsibility of each traveler/student to adhere to the varying legislation and entry requirements that are in place for each country being visited.

As a result, and in order for you to be able to join our courses/camps, the Rookie Academy requirements (as at 1 May 2023) are below:

1. Follow all Covid-19 guidelines/mandates in the country you are training in

2. Should you experience any Covid or flu-like symptoms during the course/camp, you are required to tell the Rookie Academy Manager and immediately self-isolate. If you do not do so and turn up on-snow or for a training day, your Trainer has the right to send you home.

3. If your ability to travel is restricted by legal or medical reasons related to COVID-19, you will forfeit 100% of your course/camp cost.

4. Rookie Academy strongly encourages all course participants to take out appropriate and in-depth insurance coverage.

5. If, due to local or national COVID-19 restrictions, the Rookie Academy cannot provide its services, then we will provide a 100% credit for services in the future, minus the $500 deposit booking fee.
