DAPSI (Danish Association of Professional Ski Instructors) has 3 levels of certification and is internationally recognised throughout the world.

DAPSI is proud to cooperate with Rookie Academy to offer training camps and exams in the southern hemisphere. When signing up for the camps, you will receive training in an extensive program with a Danish National Examiner. The training program will get you and your skiing to the next level, which will ultimately prepare you in the best possible way for passing the exams and entering the work field as a basic or professional ski instructor.

The courses are taught exclusively in Danish, and being fluent in Danish is a requirement for taking the courses.

Level 1
Basic Ski Instructor 1 (BSI 1) is our entry into the ladder of certifications. In this course, you will be introduced to the fundamentals in teaching beginners and up to lower intermediate level skiers. Moreover, you will receive focused training to improve your own level of skiing. The theoretical aspect of skiing and teaching is a fundamental part in our courses, and a mixture of on- and off-snow theoretical talks create a solid learning platform for developing an understanding of the different mechanisms in skiing and teaching.

At the end of the course, you will be assessed in both skiing, theory and teaching in order to pass the exams.

The course runs over 8 days including exams.

Level 2

Basic Ski Instructor 2 (BSI 2) builds upon our level 1 course. The skiing level is now more advanced and slightly more fine-tuned. Furthermore, there are now higher expectations to theoretical knowledge as well as the student’s ability to apply this in practice. Entering a training program to work focused towards achieving this level is highly recommended to increase the chances of passing.

The course runs over 8 days including exams.

Level 3

Professional Ski Instructor (PSI 1, PSI 2, PSI 3)

Completing the full level 3 will make you a certified professional ski instructor and permits you to obtain an ISIA stamp.

This level consists of three individual courses.

PSI 1 is a GS course with a final test where the student is required to complete a GS course within a set time frame. There will be both video analyses and focused training in the gates during the course.

This course runs over 4 days including the test.

PSI 2 is course on backcountry and avalanche safety, where you will be assessed in a variety of tests. These exams concern safety and navigation in various types of alpine terrain, analysing snow profiles, first aid and avalanche practice as well as skiing abilities in backcountry terrain.

This course runs over 7 days including exams.

PSI 3 has a similar structure as the first two courses in the system (BSI 1 and BSI 2) with emphasis on the student’s own technical level of skiing, theoretical knowledge, teaching and ability to analyse skiers from video. The student will therefore be assessed in all these areas.

The course runs over 8 days including exams.
