Treble Cone

World-class ski instructor and snowboard instructor courses at Treble Cone New Zealand

From early June to late September, Treble Cone New Zealand becomes a world mecca for a huge fraternity of snowboarders and skiers, as well as top international ski teams and professional snowboarders. This is the home of the New Zealand Rookie Academy,

Treble Cone New Zealand has a vertical drop of over 700m and offers some of the best-advanced terrain in the Southern Hemisphere. A high altitude guarantees good snow and incredible views over the surrounding lakes and mountains.

Treble Cone New Zealand is renowned for its steep bowls, tight chutes and unrivalled powder, with a great atmosphere and challenging runs making it ideal for all our ski and snowboard courses. It also boasts a super fast six-seat chairlift, new café and restaurant facilities, as well as a barbecue, outdoor coffee area and all the usual medical and equipment services close to hand.

New in 2005 the Saddle Basin Quad chairlift, positioned from the bottom of the Saddle Basin to an area known as Tim’s Table (1958m) just short of the summit. This chairlift is 930 metres in length, transports 1800 people per hour and has a vertical elevation of 370 metres, one of the highest in New Zealand guaranteeing great early and late season snow.

All this adds up to a world-class location for the New Zealand Rookie Academy snowboard instructor and ski instructor courses, and ensures our students gain the highest degree of skill and technical ability.
