Firstly and most importantly you will find 7 ski and snowboard shops in Wanaka covering all the major hardware, clothing and accessory brands.
As for everything else there is pretty much nothing that you can’t buy in Wanaka, whether it is a book, clothes, gifts, electronics or other sporting equipment. Whatever your needs you should be able to find it in a store in town.
Clothing stores range from snow and surf wear to street wear to high fashion for women and men. You will find that there is a great range of well-known international labels in the many stores along with some awesome kiwi designs.
There are many gift stores that don’t just have the usual tourist paraphernalia but have really fantastic original artworks and jewellery made by local people.
Other stores in town include, travel agencies, photo development, internet cafes, hardware stores and bike shops to name a few.
Major credit cards are accepted and there are a number of banks to assist with changing travellers cheques or foreign currency. |
