SBINZ Snowboard Qualifications

Certificate in Snowsports Instruction

Content covered in this 4 day course includes basic biomechanics (directions of movement), board performance concepts, teaching levels one and two, basic rider analysis, class handling and safety, teaching children, individual rider improvement and demonstrations.
Candidate’s demonstrations and understanding of material will be assessed daily. Passing this course is a pre-requisite for sitting the SBINZ Stage 1 snowboard course.

Stage 1

Stage 1 is a five day course covering teaching, analysis and demonstrations for snowboard levels 1 to 4 as they appear in the SBINZ snowboard manual. Personal rider improvement and skill development are also undertaken. An evening lecture will take place during the pre-course.

Candidate’s personal riding and demonstrations are assessed internally over the five day pre-course and movement analysis and teaching presentations are formally assessed during night four and day five.
