PSIA & AASI Instructor Qualifications Explained:
Keystone Rookie courses offer PSIA Ski Instructor Qualifications and AASI Snowboard Instructor Qualifications.
If you train to be an instructor with us in Keystone, Colorado you work toward US based qualifications that are internationally recognised:
- Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) qualifications for skiiers.
- American Association of Snowboarding Instructors (AASI) qualifications for boarders.
Note: Both organisations are members of the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA). So your qualifications are internationally recognized.
PSIA & AASI Level One
For new instructors, focussing on achieving skills, knowedge and professional standards that equip you to teach skiing or boarding:
- teach beginners and intermediates
- ski/ride most terrain comfortably
Exam: 3 days, pass or fail.
PSIA & AASI Level Two
For people intending to build a career in teaching sking or riding and focussed on achieving the skills and knowledge required to teach akiing/riding to an advanced level:
Exam:
- Three day skiing/riding module
- Three day teaching module (available to those who have passed the skiing/riding module).
Note: You need PSIA or AASI Level One Certification or the equivalent qualification from a recognized organisation to sit the Level 2 exam.
