Matt got the skiing bug as a wee nipper thanks to his persistant parents. Growing up in the canterbury area ment he was never too far from one of the south islands many ski areas. Consequently spending school holidays In Wanaka, skiing TC.

With this passion for the snow it was inevatable that he would seek a job in snowsports. What started as a bit of a break from Uni has turned into a twenty year career. Most of this time was spent instructing and training instructors at Cardrona near Wanaka. And many seasons instructing in the USA.

Matt has worked for the Rookies now for 4 seasons.

He is a senior examiner with the NZSIA and currently the technical director.

When you cant find him tearing up the verticle at TC he's probably tearing up the local single track on his Mt Bike.
