He also brings experience from outdoor instructing in the central north island, in the outdoor pursits arena and also farming experience from all over New Zealand.

Doug joined the Rookie Academy in 2005. He enjoys seeing his students gain confidence when they master new skills. Doug's patient nature and friendly manner ensures his students meet their full potential while having a good day on the slopes.

When not skiing, Doug enjoys getting the most out of life. He is an avid traveller who has had many wild adventures on the road from as far north as Alaska, throughout Africa , South America and most recently in Europe. When at home in his native New Zealand, Doug enjoys nothing more than a quiet days fishing or the adrenalin rush of hanging off the side of a mountain!
