Daniel or Bogues started with the Rookie Academy while at university as
a student in the weekend course. He loved the idea of skiing and teaching so
much he gained his qualifications and after finishing his degree he spent the
next 10 years skiing around the world.
Daniel always enjoyed training people so it seemed only natural to keep gaining
qualifications and work for the Rookie Academy. Daniel managed the academy in
New Zealand for 4 Years and also managed the courses in the United States while
at Keystone and at Copper.
Daniel took 2 Years away from skiing in New Zealand while he worked in
Las Vegas but after returning to New Zealand he has joined the team again and
is using his experience from around the world to help with training on not only
the New Zealand system but also the Canadian course.
Daniel says the best thing about the Rookie Academy is the opportunity
to ski and talk with the best trainers in the world about the techniques and
philosophies of the respective organisations.
Daniel now spends the winter up at Treble Cone with the Rookie academy
and spends his summers in NZ working as an accountant for the family business.
He is looking forward to returning to the United States next year winter to
take a break from the numbers and do what he loves.
