CSIA Level 2

The course content is directed at full and part-time ski instructors and includes:

Techniques and strategies for effective communication, group dynamics, lesson planning and alternate teaching methods,
Training in selection of skills for the development of parallel skiers,
Developing strategies for effective analysis and development,
Workshop on guest service

General Goal
To experiment, exchange and learn about technical and instructive strategies in order to teach from entry level to intermediate.

Final Goal
At the end of the course, the candidate should be able to:
Define goals and objectives of a ski lesson at this level.
Identify teaching strategies to be developed in order to ensure significant learning abilities.
Anticipate and plan the various elements linked to the organization of a lesson.
Demonstrate a good understanding of the 3 basic skiing competencies and the skill system of the CSIA
Understand strategies needed to teach children.

Prerequisites:
CSIA Level 1 certification

CSIA Level 3

Level 3 is an internationally recognized certification. The course includes:

Development of strategies for effective communication, group dynamics, lesson planning and skill drill matching,

Training in strategies to perfect and refine skiing skills for advanced skiers,
Skiing and teaching methodology of advanced terrain (bumps),
Development of methods for effective analysis and development
A workshops on mountain safety.

General Goal
To improve different technical, instructive and teaching strategies. Also allow the candidate to understand the mechanics and muscle actions involved in skiing in order to teach intermediate to advanced skiers.

Final Goal
At the end of the Level 3 course, the candidate should be able to:
Understand the mission statement of the CSIA
Define goals and objectives of a ski lesson at this level.
Anticipate and plan the various elements in the organization of a lesson.
Demonstrate a very good understanding of teaching and instructive strategies to be used, in order to ensure good learning abilities at this level.
Demonstrate a very good understanding of the five fundamental skiing skills of the CSIA
Demonstration and understanding of the Canadian teaching of a ski lesson and the Guest Experience concept

Prerequisites:
CSIA Level 2 certification
