Alice has been working as a Sports Therapist in Wanaka for the past 3 years. She spends her time working between her clinic practicing remedial sports massage and the gym doing personal training. Originally from the UK, she has worked with the British Disabled Ski Team to develop a fitness testing protocol and alongside them at races in Europe, as well as being a Classifier for disabled alpine skiing at a national level. Alice is also involved with the Australasian PGA Tour and will be working at events throughout New Zealand.
Alice has the experience of working with a variety of elite athletes, the individual and teams both on and off the field. She thinks that Wanaka is the biggest and most beautiful playground around! So when she’s not working you’ll see her running up Mt Roy, rock climbing on Hospital Flats, out on the lake in the Waka ama with the girls or last but not least skiing the steeps!
Alice’s role within the Rookie Academy is to provide the athletes with any advice and information they may need on their health and fitness. She will endeavor to do this by providing them with pre season training programs, goal setting plans, biomechanical assessments, core training classes and rehabilitative massage throughout their stay. She, like the rest of the Rookie crew, wants the athletes to achieve and get as much out of the courses as possible so being healthy and fit is an integral part of this. She will be available to email or to talk to about any questions that the athletes may have before or during their stay. She will be working closely with the other practioners and trainers so providing the athletes with a fully rounded approach to their training. |
